Pastor David P. Gunderlach was called as Reformation’s Associate Pastor for Family Ministry in November, 2006.
A native of Chicago, Pastor Gunderlach graduated from Concordia College, Milwaukee, Wisconsin (A.A., 1968), Concordia Senior College, Ft.
Wayne, Indiana (B.A., 1970) and Christ Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri (M.Div., 1974). Pastor Gunderlach served two congregations in upstate New York and then 26 years of active duty as a chaplain in the U.S. Navy. While on active duty, he was selected for postgraduate education and earned a Master of Arts degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the Phillips Graduate Institute (formerly California Family Study Center), North Hollywood, California.
Pastor Gunderlach is a member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. As part of his call to family ministry at Reformation, he serves on the clinical staff of the Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center in Newport News.
Pastor Gunderlach is married to Joyce Ann nee Blocker of Davenport, Iowa. The Gunderlachs have three children: Rebecca, Jonathan and Ryan.
