The Cantabile Project

Anna Feucht, soprano, Chris Mooney, baritone and Ruth Winters, pianist, will perform a recital of contrasting love songs by Robert Schumann and Jake Heggie. Included on the program are the endearing, ultra-romantic “Frauen Lieben und Leben” and Heggie’s heartfelt and perceptive struggle with male communication in “Unspoken Thoughts”. Anna is also a soprano with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and Virginia Chorale. Anna obtained her Master of Music
degree from the University of Florida and her Bachelor of Music from Christopher Newport University. A “Powerful and Stylish young baritone, Christopher Mooney has been delighting American audiences since his debut as Marcello in La Boheme at the Aspen Music Festival. He has since appeared nationally with New York City Opera, Santa Fe Opera, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the Aspen Opera Theatre, Opera Northeast, Connecticut Grand Opera, State Repertory Opera of New Jersey and the Caramoor Festival. Mr. Mooney received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master’s Degree from The Julliard School. Mr. Mooney is full-time professor at Christopher Newport University. Please join us in a recital of love songs that reflect ideas to which we all can relate. The concert is open to the public. Contributions to support the Concert Series will be accepted during the intermission. A reception follows the concert.
