Joshua Espinoza Trio
Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 4 p.m.
Possessing a wide color palette, the Joshua Espinoza Trio explores shimmering harmonies and shifting orchestral contours with the aesthetic of a chamber ensemble as much as a jazz trio. Influenced by artists as disparate as Herbie Hancock, bassist Avishai Cohen, Gerald Clayton, and composer Maurice Ravel, the Joshua Espinoza Trio takes listeners on a journey for the ears and mind alike. Through their genre-bending approach to songwriting, they've built a cross-generational audience of diverse backgrounds bound together by their love of good music. The Joshua Espinoza Trio are Joshua Espinoza (piano), Kris Monson (bass), and Jaron Lamar Davis (drums). This performance is made possible with the support of Jazz Road, a national initiative of South Arts, which is funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation with additional support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The concert is free and open to the public. Contributions will be accepted to help support the Concert Series. Bring your mask.
