Rainbow Puppet Productions creates shows that enlighten, entertain, and educate through original music, puppets and dance. Since 1977, the artists have created touring children’s programs that take professional theater experiences from the grandest of opera houses to the largest museums, to the smallest libraries across the East Coast. Notable performances include the New York Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, and the National Theatre in Washington, DC. In "Chessie the Manatee," one of the characters sings of putting on a musical show "like Mickey Rooney." A chance meeting with Mr. Rooney in Canada eventually led to Mickey recording 9 shows for Rainbow Puppets. Local Grammy Award winning artist Bruce Hornsby helps narrate our history program... jumping in when our actors start sharing the myth of Pocahontas instead of telling what is really known of her adventures. This is a perfect outing for families. The event is free and open to the public. Contributions will be accepted to help support the Concert Series. A reception follows the concert
