“Let love be genuine…love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in the spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.” Romans 12:9-13, NRSV
- Oversees PowerMember – a ministry of the Church to reach the membership
- Coordinates the Prayer Ministry - a telephone-based sharing of needs and requests for members, family, friends, or other persons in need.
- Practices hospitality by coordinating Reformation’s Café following worship services on Sunday mornings and for festival services (e.g., Christmas, Easter, etc.) by recruiting hosts, providing coffee, tea, and other refreshments, etc.
- Hosts receptions (e.g., Mildred McDaniel Concert series, receptions following funeral or memorial services, etc.) for congregational events
- Organizes social events (e.g., potlucks, progressive dinners, Oktoberfest, etc.) throughout the church year
- Coordinates the Commitment Dinner, Advent and Lenten Supper and Easter Brunch
- Arranges for food and other needs to assist people who are ill or in grief
Submits minutes and reports five days before the Church Council meeting
- Submits an annual report to the Church Council by the second Tuesday of December
The Parish Life Ministry also oversees the Prayer Ministry and the Mens & Womens Ministry
