Jeffrey Brown

Dr. Brown performs extensively throughout the United States,
Europe and Asia as a solo recitalist, chamber musician, and soloist with orchestras. His performances include: Dame Myra Hess Series in Chicago; the Kennedy Center, Washington, D. C., and at universities and conservatories in New York, Florida, Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia.
He was a prizewinner in the Kosciuszko Chopin Competition; the Corpus Christi International Young Artists’ Competition; the Artist Presentation Society of St. Louis; the Music Teachers National Association Competition, the Iowa International Piano Competition, and the Eastman Concerto Competition.
Dr. Brown is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, where he earned the Performer’s Certificate, the Master of Music, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degrees. He studied with Natalya Antonova and served as her teaching assistant. He pursued chamber music studies with Jean Barr. Dr. Brown’s early training was with Jane Allen at the University of Missouri, where he received the Bachelor of Music degree with honors.
In 2004, Dr. Brown joined the faculty of Christopher Newport University as Director of Keyboard Studies.
The concert is open to the public. A free-will offering will be received and a reception will follow the concert.
